This year feels like a big one for us at 2U Food – and honestly, we’re pretty proud saying that out loud.

In June, we celebrate 20 years in business and very soon we’ll be rolling out our 100th food truck.

From one van and a simple idea to nearly 100 trucks feeding workplaces across the North – it’s been some journey.

From humble beginnings to feeding thousands every day

Back in the early days, 2U Food was built on a straightforward belief:

good, honest food, fairly priced, delivered reliably to people at work.

No gimmicks. No fuss. Just turning up when we said we would and serving food people actually wanted to eat.

Fast forward 20 years and that same mindset still drives us – just on a much bigger scale.

Today, our trucks:

  • Visit workplaces every morning and lunchtime
  • Serve thousands of customers daily
  • Offer everything from bacon butties and sausage rolls to pasties, salads, sandwiches and hot meals
  • Are backed by incredible teams in production, logistics, sales and operations

Nearly 100 trucks… and counting

Hitting close to 100 trucks isn’t about chasing a number for the sake of it.
It represents:

  • New routes
  • New jobs
  • New customers trusting us with their break time
  • And a lot of early starts, long days and proper teamwork

Each truck on the road is a small business in itself – run by drivers who know their customers by name, understand their sites, and take pride in what they serve.

That’s something we’ll never lose, no matter how big we get.

20 years is about people, not just numbers

If there’s one thing we’re most proud of, it’s the people behind the business.

Some of our team have been with us 10, 15, even nearly 20 years.

Others have joined more recently as we’ve grown into new regions.

Drivers, bakers, production teams, supervisors, depot managers, office staff – every single one of them has played a part in getting us here.

This milestone belongs to them as much as it does to the business.

What’s next?

Reaching 100 trucks and turning 20 isn’t a finish line – it’s a marker.

We’re focused on:

  • Expanding into new areas
  • Investing in better food, better trucks and better systems
  • Supporting workplaces with food trucks, corporate catering, vending and micromarkets
  • And continuing to do things the right way – with honesty, consistency and a Northern work ethic
